Burundi is both a donor to the Global Fund and an implementing partner of Global Fund supported programmes.
Since 2003, the Global Fund has disbursed over US$ 453 million for HIV, TB TB/HIV, Malaria, and RSSH programmes in Burundi. In addition, Burundi is part of the following Global Fund multicountry grants – Multicountry Africa ECSA-HC, Multicountry Eastern Africa ANECCA, and Multicountry Eastern Africa KANCO.
Burundi joined the Global Fund as a donor at the Sixth Replenishment by pledging US$ 1 million.
