Asia-Pacific Communities and Civil Society Thank Donors on the 1st Year Anniversary of the Global Fund

Supported by APCOM, APN+, APNSW, APTN, GCTA, GFAN AP, ICWAP, Malaria Free Mekong, NAPUD, Youth Lead and Youth Voices Count, communities living with, affected by and/or vulnerable to HIV, TB and malaria come together to demonstrate their support for the Global Fund and continue to rally together to call on donors to fully replenish the Global Fund for its Seventh Replenishment to raise at least US$18 billion to ensure that we achieve the health-related SDGs and Universal Health Coverage by 2030!

A cross-regional statement for the Tuberculosis, Universal Health Coverage and Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response United Nations High-Level Meetings. This statement was developed through consultations led and facilitated by CS4ME, GFAN Africa and GFAN Asia-Pacific.

#MeetTheTarget Campaign Launch Event

On 26th and 27th July 2023, organised by CS4ME, GFAN Africa and GFAN AP; a two-day virtual event was held to launch the revamped “Meet The Target” campaign; gather inputs for the cross regional statement – #TheUHCThatWeNeed; facilitate a conversation on the current state of the health-related political declarations with a focus on UHC HLM; and to reflect on the linkages of the HLM outcomes on DRM and on resource mobilisation efforts of the Global Fund.

#MeetTheTarget Campaign

#MeetTheTarget is a joint collaboration between GFAN Africa and GFAN AP focused on meeting the 2030 SDGs for health, especially for HIV, TB and malaria; mobilising sustainable domestic resources for health, especially for the three diseases; as well as to meet the target for the Seventh Replenishment of the Global Fund. 

G7 Hiroshima Summit

Ahead of the G7 Hiroshima Summit taking place on 19-21 May 2023, Global Fund Advocates Network (GFAN), GFAN Africa and GFAN Asia-Pacific (GFAN AP), on behalf of communities living with, affected by and/or vulnerable to HIV, TB and malaria and civil society across the world, are urging and calling upon G7 leaders to press for language to showcase their commitment in the fight against HIV, TB and malaria that recommits to ending AIDS, TB and malaria by 2030 in the G7 Leaders Communiqué and recognise specifically the Global Fund and its effort in fighting the three diseases, strengthening RSSH while contributing to PPPR and achieving UHC. 

Global Fund Advocates Network Asia-Pacific (GFAN AP) is a platform of community and civil society advocates for a fully funded Global Fund. It supports community and civil society mobilisation in the areas of increased domestic financing for HIV, TB and malaria responses; increased donor contributions towards the Global Fund; and ensuring that policy frameworks on health financing take into account community, rights and gender issues.
