GFAN AP shares its work in the first three months of 2020, during a time where the world has seen unprecedented health and economy impacts from a communicable disease within the short span of three months.

With COVID-19, Communities and populations around the world face varying restrictions and lack of access to quality life-saving drugs, commodities and services. It has further been amplified for countries that regardless of income levels, being able to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and leaving no one behind will face certain challenges as no country has been immune to the impacts that have been caused by COVID-19 as health systems struggle to respond adequately.

While the Global Fund has proactively responded to the pandemic, issuing various guidelines and policies for implementing countries, we are still faced with inadequacies in health systems and responses. Communities and civil society have been responding at the frontline – as we collate further information to showcase the investments that the Global Fund has made towards community systems that respond towards the broader health and epidemic preparedness, we also salute the health and community workers that have worked relentlessly across the globe.

We wish all well and to keep safe during this period.
