World Malaria Day 2024:
Accelerating the Fight Against Malaria for a
More Equitable World

The Global Fund Advocates Network Asia-Pacific (GFAN AP) commemorates World Malaria Day 2024, with the theme “Accelerating the fight against malaria for a more equitable world” which underscores the urgent need for even more comprehensive and holistic strategies and concerted efforts to eliminate malaria globally alongside goals to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by 2030.

Even more urgently, with less than 18 months to the Eighth Replenishment of the Global Fund in September 2025, and less than six years to achieve the 2030 targets, the Eighth Replenishment of the Global Fund is ever more vital to ensure that we can ensure a future where malaria is no longer a threat to public health and wellbeing. We call on global leaders to deliver their promises for a people-centred UHC that encompasses sustainable investments, innovation and implementation for a malaria-free future and build a healthier and more resilient world for all.
