Statement

End Hepatitis: Fund Communities, Protect Rights, Deliver Health for All

This statement is jointly released by Global Fund Advocates Network Asia-Pacific (GFAN AP), Seven Alliance (a consortium of Asia-Pacific networks: APCOM, APN+, APNSW, APTN, ICWAP, NAPUD, Youth LEAD) and World Hepatitis Alliance in conjunction with World Hepatitis Day 2026.

On 28 July 2026, the world observes World Hepatitis Day with the theme “Hepatitis: Let’s break it down“. Viral hepatitis continues to be a major cause of preventable illness and death worldwide and the theme is a call to remove barriers that stand between people and services that can save their lives.

This World Hepatitis Day, GFAN AP, the Seven Alliance and World Hepatitis Alliance call on government, donors and relevant stakeholders to come together with communities and civil society collectively and meaningfully to recognise that eliminating viral hepatitis is inseparable from ending HIV and TB, achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and protecting the health and rights of people across Asia and Pacific.
