The Global Fund Advocates Network Asia-Pacific (GFAN AP) is an advocacy platform of HIV, tuberculosis and malaria community and civil society advocates in the Asia-Pacific region. We support advocacy for a fully resourced Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Global Fund), increased & sustainable domestic resource mobilisation for health, and equitable, people-centred, human rights-based, & gender transformative inclusion of HIV, TB and malaria responses within Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
What’s New
World Tuberculosis Day 2024
On 24th March 2024, the world commemorates World Tuberculosis (TB) Day with a resolute spirit, affirming that “Yes, We Can End TB”. The Asia-Pacific region continues to have the highest TB burden. Over 80% of the TB infection and TB-related death happens in low- and middle-income countries. In particular, the Southeast Asia region carries the highest TB burden among all regions with 46% of all new TB infections.
International Women’s Day 2024
The theme for 2024 International Women’s Day is ‘Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress’ and on International Women’s Day, GFAN AP, ICW AP and W4GF celebrate the strength, meaningful contributions and resilience of women in all of their diversity worldwide in the fight against HIV, tuberculosis (TB) and malaria.
Call to Join GFAN AP Steering Committee
GFAN AP is seeking five new Steering Committee (SC) members. SC members will serve an initial term of two years, with renewal for a maximum of two additional terms, the maximum term of office being 6 years. The deadline for submitting the application is Monday 4 March 2024 at 23:59hr.
