On 13 June 2024, GFAN AP held an update webinar to inform partners on the activities that it had conducted in the past months as well as shared plans for the coming months.
The Future of the Global Health Initiatives and the Lusaka Agenda: What it is and Where are We Now?
This webinar was designed to respond to concerns expressed by GFAN AP partners about the limited awareness and engagement of community and civil society in Asia-Pacific on this important global health topic. Specific to GFAN AP’s priorities are the impacts of FGHI-related discussions and outcomes on health and development financing at both the global and regional level.
Korea-Africa Summit 2024
Leaders of Korea and Africa will gather together for the first Korea-Africa Summit on 4 & 5 June 2024 in Ilsan, Republic of South Korea under the theme of “The Future We Make Together: Shared Growth, Sustainability, and Solidarity” which demonstrates Korea’s commitment for fostering shared growth and enhancing cooperation and solidarity for a sustainable future with Africa which roots from Korea’s development experience. The statement which will be submitted to the President’s Office highlights the need for even more specific shared ambition around furthering the health goals of Africa to achieve Universal Health Coverage by putting the last mile first and ensure that we leave no one behind.
World Malaria Day 2024: Accelerating the Fight Against Malaria for a More Equitable World
The Global FundThe Global Fund Advocates Network Asia-Pacific (GFAN AP) commemorates World Malaria Day 2024, with the theme “Accelerating the fight against malaria for a more equitable world” which underscores the urgent need for even more comprehensive and holistic strategies and concerted efforts to eliminate malaria globally alongside goals to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by 2030.

The Global Fund Advocates Network Asia-Pacific (GFAN AP) extends deepest appreciation to all national, regional and global partners for collaborations and partnership in 2023 that have enabled and empowered the movement and marks remarkable camaraderie and solidarity for health advocacy related to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Global Fund).
Mobilising Momentum for the Global Fund Eight Replenishment
Held during the margins of the Annual Meeting of the Global Fund Advocates Network (GFAN) held from 20th to 22nd March 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand, the GFAN Annual Meeting brought together nearly 100 activists and advocates. The Embassy Event held on 22 March 2024 co-organized by the Global Fund Advocates Network Asia-Pacific (GFAN AP), Seven Alliance, AIDES, and Coalition Plus with strong support from the Embassy of France in Thailand aimed to leverage diplomatic missions and health advocates in mobilizing resources and shaping public health policies.

Request for Application: Senior Advocacy, Programmes and Policy Officer
GFAN AP is seeking a colleague to expand and strengthen its advocacy, policy and coordination efforts to support activities in line with its Theory of Change to involve and reach targeted key audiences including communities and civil society, donor countries, governments and parliamentarians, and the private sector and private foundations in Asia-Pacific.
World Tuberculosis Day 2024
On 24th March 2024, the world commemorates World Tuberculosis (TB) Day with a resolute spirit, affirming that “Yes, We Can End TB”. The Asia-Pacific region continues to have the highest TB burden. Over 80% of the TB infection and TB-related death happens in low- and middle-income countries. In particular, the Southeast Asia region carries the highest TB burden among all regions with 46% of all new TB infections.
